January 6, 2014

I am able to do far beyond all that you ask or imagine.  Come to Me with positive expectations, knowing that there is no limit to what I can accomplish.  Ask My Spirit to control your mind so that you can think great thoughts of Me.  Do not be discouraged by the fact that many of your prayers are yet unanswered.  Time is a trainer, teaching you to wait upon Me, to trust Me in the dark.  The more extreme your circumstances, the more likely you are to see MY POWER and GLORY at work in the situation.  Instead of letting difficulties draw you into worrying, try to view them as setting the scene for My glorious intervention.  Keep your eyes and mind wide open to all that I am doing in your life.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever!  Amen.
EPHESIANS 3:20-21

God's plans for the New Year





January 1, 2014

Come to Me with a teachable spirit, eager to be changed.  A close walk with Me is a life of continual newness.  Do not cling to old ways as you step into a new year.  Instead, seek My Face with an open mind, knowing that your journey with Me involves being transformed by the renewing of your mind.  As you focus your thoughts on Me, be aware that I am fully attentive to you.  I see you with a steady eye because My attention span is infinite.  I know and understand you completely; My thoughts embrace you in everlasting Love.  I also know the plans I have for you; plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  Give yourself fully to this adventure of increasing attentiveness to My Presence.

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will

Some of you know that 2013 from August through Friday December 27th was extremely stressful.  Brent works for Grand Valley Power and has for almost 13 years.  We thought we were here, in Fruita on Grandma's farm of almost 10 acres, her little cabin and our home FOREVER.  This was our inheritance for our boys.  When we went to our favorite little mountain town, Lake City this past summer Brent was offered an amazing opportunity to go back to work for Gunnison County Electric.  He work for them in Lake City and Crested Butte!  This was our chance to move back to this little place, a good job, #1 school in the state, with only 79 kids in the school!  So turn our world upside down.......yes, we wanted to go, no, we didn't.  Brent had to talk to his mom, uncle and aunt about us moving and selling this place of ours.  They all gave us their blessing.  We had decided that we would only go IF it all fell into place easily.  HA!  We wanted to sell the entire place together.  Our realtor said we would do better splitting this places.  Offers, backouts, etc. all the way up until December 27th.  We are done, staying here......God has a better plan and I am looking forward to it!!!!!  We can still go and camp in our favorite town and back to plans of Brent and I retiring there some day.

New year, New Chances





As this year draws to a close I have decided to make some changes for the new year.  I want to be more present in my life.  I just came here on my poor long forgotten blog to post this and realize I have not posted anything in over a year!  My how time flies!  While I will not go into all the changes I plan to make, I wanted to share with you a wonderful Daily Devotional that a friend told me about.  It is wonderful and is called Jesus Calling by Sarah Young.

As this year draws to a close, receive MY PEACE.  This is still your deepest need, and I, your PRINCE of PEACE, long to pour Myself into your neediness.  My abundance and your emptiness are a perfect match.  I designed you to have no sufficiency of your own.  I created you as a jar of clay, set apart for sacred use.  I want you to be filled with My very being, permeated through and through with PEACE.
    Thank ME for MY peaceful Presence, regardless of your feelings.  Whisper My Name in loving tenderness.  MY PEACE, which lives continually in your spirit, will gradually work its way through your entire being.

Fresh

Please be patient with me.  You might remember I mentioned that I was taking "Building a Creatively Made Business" ecourse with Jeanne Oliver.  It is wonderful!  I am learning that I really want to stretch myself to make Upcycled Soul amazing!  I am currently working on packaging ideas, photography styling and color as well as working with Avalon Rose to update the look of my website!  I am planning my 5 year goals!  Stay tuned.

No right or wrong


I am finding that I love making art more and more all the time. Well, I guess I should emphasize mixed media art. I am taking a very fun e-course called Creatively Made with Jeanne Oliver. Her style is so beautiful and she shares some really fun techniques that I had not tried before. Mixed media art is just that......mixed. You can use many different mediums; papers (all types), textures, paints, pens, markers, tape, CORRECTION PEN (or white out), really I would have never thought of white out! I love mixed media because there is no right or wrong, just your beautiful mind being creative, letting go............
